HOW ARE FEES DETERMINED?
Fitzgerald Law Office does not set attorneys fees for estate planning based upon the value of the client's assets. Nor does Fitzgerald Law Office set attorney's fees for administration of estates after death based upon the value of the assets in the estate.
For certain types of work, Fitzgerald Law Office sets a fixed fee for it's attorney's fees. The fixed fee is based upon factors such as the type of work involved, the time and resources required to do the work, specific technical or legal issues that will come up, etc. When the work for a client is a good fit for a fixed fee, Attorney Fitzgerald will set the fee amount and tell the client when the installments will be due to pay the fee.
With a fixed fee, the client knows what to expect. The client also feels more comfortable asking questions and sharing information because they do not feel like any time spent with Attorney Fitzgerald will increase their bill.
In cases where the client's work is not a good fit for a fixed fee, Fitzgerald Law Office determines its fees based upon hourly billing. Attorney Fitzgerald and the office's professional staff bill for their time spent on the client's work using their established hourly rates. In this billing format, the actual amount of the attorney fees for the matter is not known until the client's matter is finished.
